Roskilde har släppt biljetter – öppnar en dag senare än vanligt

Roskilde blir en dag kortare – biljetter ute nu.

”Mark the dates 29 June – 6 July. The most important music week of the year”, skriver Roskilde Festival på sin Facebooksida. Därmed är biljetterna släppta till 2014 års upplaga av Skandinaviens största musikfestival. Precis som förra året kostar en festival- och campingbiljett till alla dagar 1910 danska kronor och biljetter av olika slag kan inhandlas här.

Däremot får besökarna en mindre kvälls uppladdning än vanligt. Roskilde öppnar först på söndagen den 29 juni – och inte på lördagen som arrangören år 2012 och 2013 valde att släppa in partysugna människor på.

Bokningsbudgeten förblir dock densamma och antalet artister ska inte påverkas av detta. Sedan tidigare står det klart att Roskilde lägger ner scenerna Cosmopol, Odeon och Pavilion Junior för att istället etablera två nya – Avalon och Rising. Beslutet kring söndagsöppningen motiveras bland annat som följer:

”We open the campsite Sunday instead of Saturday (which we used to do not that many years ago, btw) because our experience is that the festival period has been a bit too long for many people (not everyone agrees on this, we’re sure). We receive lots of feedback from the audience – and one tendency in the feedback is that the period has been too long from the opening of the campsite until the opening of the festival site. Many people are simply too wasted (not meaning drunk in this case) when we reach Thursday. So we cut off one day from the beginning – so now you can pitch your tent Sunday and start enjoying the Roskilde party until Thursday at 17:00 when things really get started, music-wise. And as mentioned above, you get two stages (Rising and Apollo) at the campsite in 2014. We hope this gives you greater possibilities for hunting great music experiences during the first days.”
