SALEM jobbar på ny musik

Efterlängtade nyheter.

Det var i efterdyningarna av Crystal Castles uppståndelse som bland annat witch house blev en genre att räkna med. Och längst fram i frontlinjen hittade vi konstellationen SALEM. Duon tvingades emellertid till paus med anledning av att de skulle bli föräldrar. Och sedan dess har vi knappt hört något. Men nu är de på gång igen. Fotografen Wolfgang Tillmans avslöjar att de kommer släppa en remix på hans Make It Up As You Go Along den 16 september, samt att de jobbar på en ny egen fullängdare.

SALEM’s John Holland and Jack Donoghue just sent through ’Make It Up As You Go Along (SALEM Remix)’ The first piece of music they release in over five years. – They did the remix in Montegut, Louisiana this month, where they lived for the last year and where I took this photograph in May when visiting them. As expected the mix is super dense, highly abstracted from the original, and has an irresistible magic and pull. John and Jack were working on a new album there, and are completing it in Los Angeles, where they live now. Salem are back. Full Louisiana pictures when album comes out. Label tbc. – ’Make It Up As You Go Along (SALEM Remix)’ will be on Wolfgang Tillmans ‘Device Control EP’ together with more tracks and remixes tbc soon. Release date September 16.
