Brian Eno släpper nytt album

Mindre än ett år sedan sist.

Tidigare i år släppte Brian Eno det ambitiösa verket The Ship, som bland annat innehöll en The Velvet Underground-cover. Nu meddelar Eno att han börjar det nya året på bästa sätt genom att släppa en ambientskiva – genren han var med och utecklade på 1970-talet. Det nya albumet kommer att heta Reflections och släpps 1 januari på etiketten Warp.

Eno menar att Reflections är ett stycke musik som får honom att tänka tillbaka. “When I make a piece like this most of my time is spent listening to it for long periods – sometimes several whole days – observing what it does to different situations, seeing how it makes me feel. I make my observations and then tweak the rules.” Likaså menar han att inte längre vet vad termen ambient står för: “I don’t think I understand what that term stands for anymore […] it seems to have swollen to accommodate some quite unexpected bedfellows – but I still use it to distinguish it from pieces of music that have fixed duration and rhythmically connected, locked together elements.”
