Christine and the Queens jobbar på nytt album

Uppföljaren blir ”sweaty, more sexual and tougher”.

Franska Christine and the Queens var ett av fjolårets stora genombrott, då hon släppte sitt hyllade debutalbum Chaleur humaine internationellt. Albumet dök upp i Frankrike redan 2014, men nådde inte långt utanför hemlandet förrän det gavs ut på nytt med tre nya låtar och en del sång omsjungen på engelska.

Nu kommer nya besked om uppföljaren, som hon berättar om i en intervju med NME. Albumet beskrivs som ”sweaty, more sexual and tougher” och ”more high-tempo, but still really sad because I’m just me and I’m just sad deep down”. Tematiskt tar hon sig an ett visst politiskt perspektiv:

I even had ideas before that that resonated with the nightmare that we’re in. I was already trying to find solutions for what was going to happen. As artists, we just listen to the vibe of it all. Donald Trump was elected but before that we had warnings. I have my ear to the ground all the time and I could hear something approaching. Trump is not the worst thing that’s going to happen – it could be even worse than that, so we have to stay awake.
