LYSSNA: The Pains of Being Pure at Heart – ”When I Dance With You”

För en månad sedan kunde indiepopbandet The Pains of Being Pure at Heart annonsera sitt nya album The Echo of Pleasure, som föregicks av förstasingeln Anymore. Nu delar man med sig av ännu en singel från albumet – den syntbaserade When I Dance With You, där bandet bitvis låter som Slagsmålsklubben kört genom ett indiefilter.

Bandets frontperson och enda fasta medlem Kip Berman beskriver låten så här:

I don’t like when bands say they are ”proud” of their new music – or even that ”they worked so hard” – as if that makes what they did any good. I will say that I didn’t work hard at this song, it came very easily. It really just wrote itself. If you like it, you have only my muse to thank – the one that wears fluorescent pink jogging shorts 6 months of the year and cozy flannel pajamas the rest.
