My Bloody Valentine planerar ny EP och ny skiva

Kevin Shields avslöjar bandets stora planer för framtiden.

My Bloody Valentine släppte den efterlängtade uppföljaren till Loveless tidigare i år, m b v. 21 år tog det för det berömda shoegazebandet att återvända med ett nytt giv och efter många år av rykten blev Kevin Shields trots allt en man av sitt ord. I en mycket sällsynt intervju med Pitchfork avslöjar han bandets framtida planer och vi kan konstatera att det ser lovande ut för de som väntar på nytt material från My Bloody Valentine, bandet verkar smida medans järnet är hett. Om vi får tro deras kreativa planer verkar av ny utgåvor av redan släppt material vara på ingång.

Tre ohörda låtar från m b v sessions kommer släppas någon gång, men framförallt så finns en ny EP i sikte samt ett nytt album.

“The next step is to make an EP of all-new material,”  följt av goda utsikter för ännu ett album signerat MBV “The main plan for next year is to make a new record.”

“I’m also going to re-master Lovelessand Isn’t Anything and all the EPs in analog to make pure analog cuts, which has never happened before. And I hate to say this because we haven’t set it up yet, but we want to do a site where everyone who bought a record would be able to stream various other things we put up, like an old recording of when I first experimented with pitch-bending back in ‘81. People could get a clearer version of how we wound up where we did. It seems more mysterious based on the records that were released because it seems like we went from a Cramps/Birthday Party band, to a noisy Jesus and Mary Chain indie pop band, to what we became in ‘88. But if you hear what we did before that, you can see how we were just playing around. It’s not what it seems.”
