Radiohead planerar sin turné för 2012

Radiohead är lite utav den våta drömmen för många av oss besökare och majoriteten av arrangörerna i branschen, men under 2012 kan de lysa med sin frånvaro på de europeiska festivalscenerna trots den kommande turnén.
Bandet är i färd med att planera sin kommande turné bekräftar gitarristen Ed O’ Brien för radiokanalen 6 Music.
”We’re finalizing dates now, we’ll be on the road from the end of February to November and we’ll be playing in both the UK and US, the usual ports of call.”
Och fokuset kommer ligga på det nya materialet, och av den anledningen föredrar man arenor framför festivalscener.
“Some of the shows will be outside, but the ones in Europe will be inside and I think that’s very much a reaction to when we played last time. We played in the height of summer and compromised our production. Outdoor gigs can be great, but the sound can get diluted, you’re at the mercy of the elements and I think the record demands a space where the music is loud, strong and detailed.”
Glädjande i bemärkelsen att Radiohead åtminstone är ute på vägarna, men en aning trist att de verkar välja bort festivalspelningar på europeisk mark. Å andra sidan är Radiohead ett band som ständigt överraskar. Och kanske är Roskilde och Bestival som passar The King Of Limbs bättre än andra? Coachella känns dock som en lågoddsare.
